  • Preparing them for cost evaluation is labor-intensive and often happens too late - after major decisions are fixed.

Process

  1. Provide an architecture model meeting the minimum requirements.
  2. Upload to abstractBIM.com to build a consistent quantity model.
  3. Download the model and use it for automated quantity takeoff.

Outcome

  • Building volume and gross floor area.
  • Interior and exterior walls with a clear relation to one or two spaces.
  • Slabs, roofs, and base slabs.
  • Windows, doors, and coverings with space relation and direction.

Deliverables

  • Architecture model with IfcProject, IfcSite, IfcBuilding, IfcBuildingStorey, IfcSpace, IfcWindow, and IfcDoor
  • Room name in LongName, optional room number in Name
  • abstractBIM quantities as the basis for cost estimates and option comparison
