Detail reference overview

Like detail references in 2D sections, the detail reference overview shows in 3D where each standard detail applies - to spot planning gaps quickly and improve execution quality.

Starting point

• In 2D plans, detail references are shown in sections; the model often lacks the spatial assignment of standard details.
• Without modelled validity zones, planning gaps and missing detail assignments are hard to detect.

Goal & benefit

• Locate standard details in the model and represent their validity area as a volume.
• Make gaps, overlaps, and missing assignments visible early.

Process

1. Define the standard detail catalogue and detail numbers.
2. Place detail references as volumes in the detail reference overview and assign them to standard details.
3. Check the model and resolve missing or conflicting assignments.

Outcome

• Traceable detail reference overview with clear assignment of standard details to building zones as the basis for detailed design and quality assurance.

Deliverables

• Architecture model with IfcProject, IfcSite, IfcBuilding, and IfcBuildingStorey
• Detail references as IfcBuildingElementProxy with PredefinedType=USERDEFINED and ObjectType=Detailverweis
• Name with detail designation
