Visualizations for usage agreements from the model
DES-USAGE-AGREEMENT · General · Design
Hold usage-agreement requirements (SIA 260) per space in the model and derive readable visualizations from them.
Starting point
- Area loads, point loads, and vibration requirements are often kept only in tables or coloured plans - hard to align with the space model.
- Changes to room use or load assumptions are easily lost in documentation.
- Client and specialists need a shared, space-based reading of the agreed values.
Goal & benefit
- Keep design target values of the usage agreement directly on interior and exterior spaces in the model.
- Produce coloured plans and visualizations from the model instead of parallel list maintenance.
Process
- Provide interior and exterior spaces as volumes with use.
- Capture design area load, design point load, and vibration requirements per space.
- Derive visualizations and plans from the model and align them with the usage agreement.
Outcome
- Traceable, space-based representation of the agreed usage requirements as a basis for the usage agreement and design basis.
Deliverables
- Architecture model with IfcProject, IfcSite, IfcBuilding, and IfcBuildingStorey
- Interior spaces as IfcSpace (PredefinedType=INTERNAL) and exterior spaces as IfcSpace (PredefinedType=EXTERNAL)
- LongName with use; Name optional
- DesignAreaLoad (design area load) in kN/m²
- DesignPointLoad (design point load) in kN
- VibrationRequirements (vibration requirements) as VC-A … VC-E
