Develop the fire-case control matrix
DES-FIRE-MATRIX · General · Design
Formally approve the fire-case control matrix for detectors, dampers, actuators, and suppression equipment before construction.
Starting point
- Fire-case control logic often exists only in tables without a link to MEP devices in the model.
- Without formal matrix approval, execution lacks binding safety logic.
Goal & benefit
- Maintain the matrix for detectors, dampers, actuators, and suppression bindingly.
- Approve safety logic before construction, separate from the architecture fire concept.
Process
- Provide the MEP model with detectors, dampers, actuators, and suppression equipment.
- Develop the fire-case control matrix and align it with fire planning and MEP.
- Formally approve the matrix as the basis for execution.
Outcome
- Formally approved fire-case control matrix as the basis for MEP execution.
Deliverables
- Fire-case control matrix
- MEP model with IfcProject, IfcSite, IfcBuilding, and IfcBuildingStorey
- IfcAlarm, IfcSensor, IfcActuator, IfcDamper, IfcFireSuppressionTerminal, and IfcSwitchingDevice
- No additional control attributes - matrix as the process deliverable
