Drawing derivation from the 3D model

DES-DRAWINGS · General · Design

Derive drawings from the 3D model and read them as a completeness check against the IFC model.

Starting point

  • Drawings and model often diverge; readability for coordination and execution is missing.
  • Parallel 2D statuses without derivation from the model are error-prone.

Goal & benefit

  • Derive floor plans, sections, elevations, and details directly from the model.
  • Use the drawings as a completeness check against the IFC model.

Process

  1. Provide the architecture model with the current planning status.
  2. Derive floor plans, sections, elevations, and details from the model.
  3. Check readability and completeness against the model.

Outcome

  • Coordinated floor plans, sections, elevations, and details as the geometric planning basis.

Deliverables

  • Architecture model with IfcProject, IfcSite, IfcBuilding, and IfcBuildingStorey
  • Floor plans, sections, elevations, and details
