SPACE-ELEVATOR

Enables the occupied area to be assigned by storey so that area verification can be maintained correctly.

Description

  • The elevator space object describes the space occupied by the elevator on each storey, not the physical lifting equipment.
  • Storey-by-storey separation enables correct area classification, e.g. according to SIA 416 or DIN 277.

Modelling guidelines

  • Model a separate volume with the space tool on each storey; do not create a space object spanning several storeys.
  • Assign a unique Name on each storey, set LongName = Elevator, and record the area class in Reference (e.g. VF or VF-9).

Attributes

Name Description Unit
Name

Unique technical designation of the elevator space object on each storey.

LongName

Fixed use of the space object.

Allowed values

  • Elevator - storey-by-storey elevator space object
PredefinedType

Marks the object as a space.

Allowed values

  • SPACE - space

Note

  • The also permitted values INTERNAL and EXTERNAL conflate space type and location and have been deprecated since IFC4.3_ADD2. Therefore, use SPACE now and specify interior or exterior status using IsExternal.
InteriorOrExteriorSpace

Marks the elevator space object as an interior space.

Allowed values

  • INTERNAL - interior space

Note

  • Additional IFC2x3 classification; interior status is specified across all versions using IsExternal.
Reference

Pset_SpaceCommon

Area class of the elevator space object according to SIA 416 or SIA D0165.

Allowed values

IsExternal

Pset_SpaceCommon

Marks the elevator space object as an interior space.

Allowed values

  • FALSE - interior space
NetFloorArea

Qto_SpaceBaseQuantities

Net floor area of the modelled elevator space object.

m²
GrossVolume

Qto_SpaceBaseQuantities

Gross volume of the modelled elevator space object.
