Precast concrete parts ordering from model

CON-PRECAST-ORDER · General · Construction

Provide precast concrete parts from the structural model for ordering and delivery planning.

Starting point

  • Prefabricated part numbers are missing from the model or are not unique; ordering and site logistics rely on manual lists.
  • Without agreed assignment in the structural model, ordering errors and supply chain delays occur.

Goal & benefit

  • Assign a unique prefabricated part number to each precast concrete component in the structural model.
  • Derive ordering and delivery planning directly from the model.

Process

  1. Provide the structural model with execution-accurate precast concrete parts.
  2. Capture the prefabricated part number per component in the Name attribute.
  3. Export the model for ordering and delivery planning.

Outcome

  • Uniquely numbered precast concrete parts as the basis for ordering and delivery coordination on site.

Deliverables

  • Structural model with IfcColumn, IfcBeam, IfcWall, and IfcSlab
  • Name with prefabricated part number per precast concrete part (native IFC attribute)
