Basics for tendering flooring works

BES-FLOORING-TENDER · General · Ordering

Capture flooring information per space in the space model as the tender basis - without a modelled floor build-up.

Starting point

  • Flooring quantities and types for tendering are often assembled manually from drawings and room lists.
  • Without a uniform space property, covering type and area are missing as a checkable basis for positions and quantities.

Goal & benefit

  • Maintain the intended floor covering and net floor area per interior space in the model.
  • Room-wise evaluation as the basis for the specification and quantity take-off of flooring works.

Process

  1. Provide interior spaces with room number and use in the architecture model.
  2. Capture floor covering type (FloorCovering) and NetFloorArea per space.
  3. Derive the room list by covering type and area for the tender documents.

Outcome

  • Room-wise flooring basis for tendering flooring works.

Deliverables

  • Architecture model with interior spaces (IfcSpace)
  • Name, LongName, FloorCovering (Pset_SpaceCoveringRequirements), and NetFloorArea per interior space
